Course Content
- Understanding the ways that domestic violence can affect children and their resulting needs.
- Risk factors and assessment of risk and needs.
- Parenting issues - working with parents after abuse.
- Techniques for working with children both individually and in groups - Safety planning, increasing children's insight and understanding of the abuse, increasing emotional literacy and resilience and anger management with children.
- These techniques incorporate art work, fantasy, role play and a range of visual exercises.
