Becoming an associate family safety assessor at PAI

As an agency, our primary area of expertise is in assessing the potential for direct or indirect harm to children and their parents arising from violence in the family.
We are presently seeking psychologists to undertake independent expert assessments within child protection proceedings, in cases where domestic abuse / family violence is a child protection concern.

We are also seeking psychologists who can carry out a cognitive assessments with  parents (these can be done together with a family safety assessment or as a stand-alone assessment).  At present we have forensic, clinical and counselling psychologists on our team.

We would also be interested in hearing from professionals from other backgrounds who have a post graduate qualification in their field, a high level of experience and expertise in working with perpetrators of domestic abuse and have the capacity to prepare robust reports for the family courts,

You will be provided with training and mentoring in using a detailed, evidence-based assessment framework, which has been specifically designed to address the complex issues of risk and vulnerability encountered in family court cases.

We are able to provide you with the support, training and consultation you will need for an independent role as well as administrative support.

What we can offer:
⦁ A caseload suited to your availability
⦁ Administrative support throughout the life of a case
⦁ Detailed quality assurance of reports by a practitioner with long experience of preparing reports for the court
⦁ Case consultations from an expert in the field of family violence
⦁ Access to research literature and books about domestic abuse and family violence
⦁ Support and advice at any point during the assessment
⦁ A pleasant environment in which to meet clients in our offices in Chiswick, West London (we can also meet with clients in various other venues across London)
⦁ Training opportunities

Please apply by sending a CV and a brief outline of your main areas of experience.
