CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Given the government restrictions on contact between people, we are setting things up so that we can conduct all our interviews online - via the Zoom service (freely downloadable).

We have found this to be an effective way of working, Our experience is that this method gives a real sense of having met the person.

However this means that clients will need to be informed about this way of working, and to have access to a laptop or tablet, a stable internet connection, and a safe and private space for the duration of the interviews

It is also possible to use the Zoom phone app -  this would need the client to have a data package which could allow for lengthy video calls.

However, as you know, many of our clients may not have access to good internet services, or the cost of data services may get in the way.

If we can be supplied as early as possible with phone numbers for parents involved in the assessment, we we can offer support with connecting to the video service.

However please be aware that your client may need practical assistance if the assessment is to be completed within the required timescale (for instance help with purchasing a ‘data bundle’ for their phone).

We would be grateful if you could bring this message to the attention of the court and all parties in the case.

We will keep you updated as to whether it has been possible to set up online interviews, and whether any difficulties will affect the filing of our report.
